The FCM participates in many educational events around and sometimes beyond the Morongo Basin.  We
participate to help raise money for the FCM and to educate the general public about mining.   Scheduled events
usually performed each year are Grubstakes Days in Yucca Valley, occasionally Pioneer Days in 29 Palms, the Old
Timers Reunion at the 29 Palms Historical Society, the Foreign Exchange Student Program, and various
demonstrations/lectures at area schools and Chambers of Commerce.  We will also conduct demonstrations at
special request.  Demonstrations conducted by FCM in the past were held at the various Libraries, the Marine Base,
Joshua Tree National Park Association and the 29 Palms Historical Society.  All these events and demonstrations
require participation and work.  Members of the FCM, Inc are requested to volunteer to the maximum extent
possible.
The FCM tries to have four sanctioned campouts at our claims, and occasionally other locations, around Southern
California each year.  Sometimes we are invited to stay at and work claims which are held by other clubs.  In turn
we do the same for them.  All rules followed at FCM claims will be adhered to as well as the hosting club’s rules.
All members are invited to participate.
